Online Install Functional and Protective Telecommunications Earthing Systems - ICTCBL2012A

The Online TRC Earthing Course consists of two parts:

a) 6 Online Modules -

Introduction to Earthing Systems, Telecommunications Earthing Systems, Earthing System Configurations, Earthing Installation and Testing, Lightning Protection Principles and Managing Remote Power Feeding.

b) 1 day practical competency assessment will be conducted at a JB Hunter training venue. The assessment will include a written examination and practical skills exercises that will determine that you are competent.

Telecommunications earthing has direct application in the digital and analogue communications industry including telephony, data, video, digital broadcasting, multi-media and computer networks, including LANs and WANs.

The Online TRC earthing course will provide you with the required knowledge to:

•    Understand the relationship between TRC earthing and the buildings electrical protective earthing (PE) system
•    Safely and correctly interconnect the TRC system with the buildings PE system
•    Evaluate earthing needs for distributed cable systems on a customers premise
•    Determine the type and location of earthing requirements
•    Determine earth cabling route and the required support system
•    Correctly install, label and terminate the TRC components
•    Correctly and accurately test the TRC system to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
•    Correctly and safely install Customer Lightning Protection elements to reduce induced electrical hazards

Pre-requisite: Candidates should have successfully completed an ACMA Open Cabler Registration Course.
