Course Overview – Safe Use of Hand & Power Tools

This unit deals with the knowledge and skills required to safely use hand and power tools in the workshop and on the worksite.

This unit covers classroom skills and knowledge acquisition and is complemented by “on-the-job” work experience and supervision.  This is necessary before the competency ICTTC140B can be awarded.

Topics include:

Safe Use of Hand and Power Tools; Personal Protective Equipment; Identification, selection, maintenance and storage of Basic Hand Tools and Basic Power Tools.
